Paranormal Activity - Good Horror Movie Alert!
A big thumbs up for the trailer for the new horror movie ‘Paranormal Activity’, it uses the ‘audience freaking out’ routine to great effect, and it looks genuinely frightening..there’s something about the hand held / fly on the wall camera routine that still spooks..not sure when it hits the UK.
Another delicious tale of love & deceit from Almodovar
The summer silly season is over and the quality of movies is on the rise as the nights draw in, and kicking them off is another beautifully crafted tale of love, deceit and primary colours from the king of Spanish (European Cinema) Pedro Almodolvar. “Broken Embraces” stars the sumptuous Penelope Cruz as woman who falls illicitly in love and well you guest it gets her self into all sorts of trouble. Sad and poignant climax..delicious!
The Descent 2
The Descent was nifty little horror film about a group of women who went on a caving holiday and sadly got chomped one by one by a group of nasty underground zombies…mmm nice, they’ve made a follow up..check out the hilarious voiceover..

Avatar - the hype builds!
The hype for James Cameron’s 12 years in the making Avatar cranks up as some lucky people get to see 15 mins of 3D footage in selected cinemas this weekend. The nice arts correspondant from the BBC seemed very impressed with the 3Dness of it all on last nights news..here’s some new footage c/o Perez, looks suitable impressive but dont the Aliens look a tad CGI, maybe I need the 3D glasses? Mind you Mr Cameron has never let us down before..looking forward to this one..

Sci fi thriller District 9 opened big over the weekend in the States, the Aliens in peril movie looks good, but as previously mentioned we’re still to be convinced by the Aliens!
